I bought a Goldshell SC5 Pro Bitcoin miner for around $500 — and it has now generated roughly $2,300 worth of Bitcoin in just a day.

The reason? The sudden explosion surrounding BIP-110, Bitcoin Blake2B mining, and the huge demand for Blake2B hash rate.

In this video, I break down what is happening with BIP-110, the new BTCB2 market, Bitcoin Blake2B mining, MiningRigRentals demand, and why older Blake2B ASIC miners like the Goldshell SC5 Pro, SC Box, SC Light and other Siacoin miners have suddenly become extremely interesting.

GPU mining ...has changed dramatically, and I'm finally starting to move my GPUs away from traditional cryptocurrency mining and toward AI compute.

In this video, I'm taking 170HX GPUs out of my GP Riser R8 GPU mining servers and moving them into Gigabyte servers for a new private AI inference client. After running these systems for months, it's crazy to see how the same hardware that was originally purchased for GPU mining is now being requested for AI workloads.

I also talk about the 48 GPUs I purchased for $7,200, upgrading my server hardware, my Xeon Gold 6152 CPUs, RAM requirements, my remaining Gigabyte servers, and what I might eventually do with all of these GP Riser R8 cases.

GPU mining may not currently make financial sense, but AI compute has created an entirely different opportunity for this hardware.

Within roughly 12 hours, I had recovered the entire purchase price by renting out the miner through Mining Rig Rentals. TheGoldshell SC5 Pro normally mines Siacoin using the Blake2B algorithm, but the recent BIP-110 activity has created an incredible amount of demand for Blake2B hash rate.

In this video, I break down what happened, how I rented my Goldshell SC5 Pro, how much Bitcoin I earned, why people are suddenly paying huge amounts for Blake2B hash rate, and whether this situation is actually sustainable.

I've got a LOT happening behind the scenes right now, and this is probably one of the biggest updates I've given you guys in a while.

My NVIDIA CMP 170HX GPUs were originally something I was considering selling, but that has completely changed after a potential AI inference client reached out about renting servers specifically equipped with 170HX GPUs.

We're currently doing a proof of concept with two servers, each with eight 170HX GPUs, 384GB of ECC DDR4 RAM, and 2TB of storage. If everything works out, this could potentially turn into a five-figure monthly contract.

I'll also show you what I've been working on with my AI GPU rental business, including my 4090 and 5090 systems on Vast, my CMP 170HX setup, SimplePod, and the unfortunate death of one of my RTX 4090 GPUs.

There's also a LOT of new hardware coming.

This tiny Bitcoin ...miner surprised me.

The Hammer Miner Thor X1 claims around 3.1 TH/s while using roughly 38 watts, but after testing different voltage and frequency settings, I was able to get around 3.1–3.2 TH/s at approximately 51 watts at the wall.

I also pushed it higher and managed around 3.3 TH/s at close to 60 watts.

• ~3.1 TH/s at ~51W

• Normal mode: ~2.7 TH/s at ~37–38W
• Custom setting tested: 470 frequency / 102 voltage
• ~16.4 J/TH at ~51W
• 100% accepted shares during testing
• Solo mining to my own Umbrel Bitcoin node

• Thor OS firmware updated from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3

At the normal advertised power level, the miner is particularly interesting from an efficiency standpoint. Once you start pushing the frequency and voltage higher, power consumption increases and efficiency gets worse.

The included power supply is rated for 65W, so I personally wouldn't want to push this miner much beyond the mid-50-watt range for long-term operation.

🌡️ TEMPERATURE & NOISE TEST

At 100% fan speed, I measured approximately:

• ~56–57 dB at about 0.5 ft
• ~50–51 dB at about 2 ft

Thermal testing showed roughly 60–66°C around the hottest areas during the ~51W configuration.

When I pushed the miner closer to 60W, temperatures were significantly higher, reaching roughly 80°C+ in my testing.

The Thor X1 uses Hammer Miner's closed-source Thor OS.

The interface allows you to configure:
