I've been running these 170HX systems for AI GPU rentals, but I've been dealing with kernel errors, GPU errors, failed Docker instances, potential PCIe issues, and questions surrounding the GPU unlock software and drivers.

In this video, I'm troubleshooting one of my Gigabyte 170HX servers, replacing GPUs, checking the PCIe slots, reseating hardware, and eventually discovering that the server was running a very old BIOS.

I also update the BIOS remotely through the BMC and see if moving from the old R15 BIOS to the newer R26 version helps solve the stability problems.

I'm also dealing with another 170HX server that is currently rented, so I don't want to shut it down while the customer is still actively using the GPU.

I'll also give you an update on my 8x Tesla V100 16GB GPU server, which I've moved over to Vast.ai after previously dealing with port and other setup issues.

These 170HX GPUs have been extremely interesting for AI inference, especially with their large amount of VRAM, but getting everything stable in a multi-GPU server environment has been a learning experience.

I tested the Xphere XP0 ASIC miner for over a month to see how much it could actually earn.

When I first received this miner, I had several concerns including the limited mining pool options, the Xphere project itself, and the long-term profitability. I finally tested a new power solution for my four Bitcoin solo miners using an HP Platinum server power supply and the CryptoMachine.shop Tech Nerd Army PSUBB-V1 breakout board.

Instead of running multiple power bricks on 120V, I consolidated everything onto a single 1500W HP server PSU running at 240V to see if there would be any measurable efficiency gains.

The results surprised me.

After running the setup for over an hour, total power consumption dropped from approximately 1347W down to 1269W, saving around 78 watts while maintaining the same hashrate across all four Octaxes.

- The UTXOs that were swept span from 2021 to 2026

100% of the addresses swept were single sig, NONE of the addresses stolen from were taproot.

I finally shut down my RTX 3060 AI rental rig and replaced it with NVIDIA 170HX GPUs. After running the RTX 3060s on SimplePod for several months, the earnings were not consistent enough compared to what these unlocked 170HX GPUs can now do.

The NVIDIA 170HX 8GB cards have received major updates including unlocked 64GB VRAM support and PCIe Gen 2 x4 speeds, making them much more interesting for AI workloads and GPU rental platforms.
